I'm a political scientist with a specialization in the field of International Relations. The core focus of my research is on international organizations, human rights and peace operations. In my current research, I analyze the conditions for accountability in global governance, in particular regarding human rights violations that have been committed by international organizations or their implementing partners.

I have recently been appointed Assistant Professor (Junior Professor) for Global Governance and Humanitarian Action at the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany. Since 2015, I have also been a Max Weber postdoctoral fellow at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. Previously I worked as a research fellow at the Berlin Social Science Research Center (WZB) in a project on "International Organizations and the Protection of Fundamental Rights of Individuals", directed by Michael Zürn and Monika Heupel. I hold a PhD (Dr. phil.) from the Free University Berlin, where I was a research associate at the Berlin Graduate School for Transnational Studies.
