Pierre on Tageschau

The Russian invasion of Ukraine shocked the World and staggered the international post-World War II international order. In the face of this agression, many leading members of the IFHV were present in German television and print media discussin what this means for international law.

The course of the conflict and German Involvement

On March 13th, and interview from NZZ with the IFHV's managing director, Prof. Dr. Pierre Thielbörger was published in which he discussed German involvement in the conflict and the legal basis for even further engagement under Article 51 of the UN Charter. Read this interview [here]. 

On March 6th and 7th, research associate Timeela Manandhar appeared was interviewed by Radio Bochum and Die Welt on the war in Ukraine, human rights, and the ICC. 

On March 3rd,  Prof. Dr. Pierre Thielbörger appeared in the Nachtjournal on RTL discussing Germany's delivery of weapons to Ukraine and its status in international law. You can watch this [here]. Additionally, he was interviewed by NTV on Russian President Putin and the ICC.

Following the invasion by Russian forces across Ukraine, Prof. Dr. Thielbörger appeared on Tageschau and ARD discussing the legality of Russia's actions and it internatinonal legal implications.
