The Center for International Affairs of the Faculty of Law at Ruhr-University Bochum is looking for a research associate (m/f/d) as of the next possible date

The Centre for International Affairs (ZFI) at the Ruhr-University Bochum’s Faculty of Law takes care of all international aspects of the Faculty of Law. This includes the organization and advising of law students from Bochum who would like to go abroad as part of their studies, as well as incoming students from abroad. Furthermore, the ZfI coordinates the legal foreign language program and offers the certificate program "Anglo-American Law and Language". In addition, the ZfI administers the LLM program for law students from abroad.

Your tasks:

  • Independent internationally oriented, jurisprudential research in the field of international law (the possibility of doctoral studies is offered).
  • Independent teaching duties to the extent of 2/3 semester hours per week.
  • Support for the academic advising of domestic students and the supervision of foreign students and scholars.
  • Scientific support of the DAAD Visiting Professorship "Common Law in a Global Context".

Your profile:

  • Completed legal studies.
  • Preference will be given to lawyers who have passed at least one state examination in Germany with above-average results.
  • Applicants should have studied or completed a longer internship abroad or have other intensive foreign language experience (e.g., in the form of English-language moot court)
  • Good command of German and English; knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
