Dress Rehearsal for 2023's Jessup Team

If you are interested in attending a simulated dispute before the International Court of Justice, the RUB Jessup team cordially invites you to the dress rehearsal on February 13, 2024 at 4 p.m. in the campus "Gerichtslabor"

Ruhr University Bochum represented at Jessup Moot Court

The team consisting of law students Gianna Ittermann, Hannah Holewik, Yari-Lasse Jäger, Lisa-Marie Welker, and Lilli-Noor Wouhbé represented Ruhr University Bochum at this year's Jessup German National Rounds, held from 28 February to 02 March in Münster. Congratulations to the Bochum Jessup Team 2024/2025!

The Bochum Jessup Team 2024/2025 won all preliminary matches at the German National Round and reached the quarterfinals, earning multiple awards for their memorials and speakers. The team, from specialization 4 of the law faculty, was coached by Vanessa Bliecke, Rouven Diekjobst, and Yari-Lasse Jäger under Professor Pierre Thielbörger.

Bochum Jessup Team is German Champion in International Law 2026

At the German National Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2026 (19.–22. February) in Trier, the team of the Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) has achieved a historic success. The law students Çağatay Maloğlu, Rafaela Rietz, Jessica Schäfer, Luis Zilm and Cem Zor prevailed against 20 German teams and became National Champion 2026.

Federal Minister of Justice Congratulates the Bochum Jessup-Team

In a short video sent by the Minister of Justice, Stefanie Hubig, she congratulated the Bochum Jessup team on their success in the national rounds in Trier and wished them best of luck in the international rounds in Washington DC. The team expresses its gratitude towards this kind message from the minister.

Historic Success for Bochum: RUB Team Advances to the Top 32 of the International Law-World Championship

The team of Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) has achieved the best result in its history at this year’s White & Case International Rounds, the World Championship in International Law. The law students Çağatay Maloğlu, Rafaela Rietz, Jessica Schäfer, Luis Zilm, and Cem Zor prevailed in a field of over 150 teams worldwide and reached the round of 32.
